What does it really mean to feel energized and in control of your energy?

This came up in a recent session.

It’s not about being happy and productive all the time.

It’s about noticing when you’re not - and knowing how to recover.

It’s about understanding what drains you, accepting it,

and using the tools that work for you to shift -

before you stay stuck too long.

We all have dips.

Despite all the work I’ve done, I still do.

The difference is: I don’t stay there for too long now.

And that changes everything.

Most of the time, we don’t even notice what state we’re in.

We push through the day - reacting, staying busy -

without realizing how much our energy is shaped

by what we don’t stop to notice.

Like when someone says something that throws you off -

and it lingers in the back of your mind all day,

affecting your mood, focus, and clarity.

Noticing how you feel - really feel - is where it starts.

That’s what gives you the power to shift.

To do that, you have to observe your thoughts, reactions, emotions.

Step out of your rational thinking - often driven by old patterns.

As Neale Donald Walsch writes:

“A life lived by choice is a life of conscious action.

A life lived by chance is a life of unconscious reaction.”

Living consciously means noticing and choosing -

not just reacting on autopilot.

Sometimes, that means stepping out of your mind for a moment.

Breaking the loop.

Noticing what’s happening - across different parts of your life.

Because energy isn’t one-dimensional:

Physical - grabbing coffee instead of food, not noticing why you’re drained by noon.

Emotional - feeling off because you never check in on your emotions or let them out.

Mental - jumping from task to task, then wondering why you’re exhausted by mid-afternoon.

Spiritual - when you lose touch with what matters to you, and feel unfulfilled without knowing why.

Environmental - lights, noise, or clutter that quietly drain your energy all day.

The more you notice, the more you can shift.

Energy isn’t something you’re supposed to have all the time -

but it is something you can protect, recover, and rebuild.

Something to think about:

  • How often do you get stuck in low-energy states - stress, worry, doubt?

  • And how quickly can you pull yourself out?

  • Do you know what actually helps you reset?
